Hosting the District Governor Elect and a Vocational Excellence Award!
A great Daybreak morning meeting with our District Governor Elect, Greg Sund!
Greg spoke about the need for more mental health awareness about depression and suicide, giving our club another mission to address. He also spoke of creating a more peaceful life and community by embodying a peaceful outlook and way of approaching life. Then, he challenged us to double our membership! He is a very engaging speaker and we're glad to have had the opportunity to host him!
In other happenings, the annual Vocation Excellence award was given to one of our club members– it often goes to local folks who are not part of Rotary Clubs – and this time Tory Osola, Manager of the Strater Hotel in Durango was the recipient. Very well deserved for hard work at the hotel and so much giving of time and talents to Rotary!
